Waterford Castle Family Fun Day & Island Run 2012
Pack a picnic blanket, hop in the car and enjoy the holiday feeling as you take the short ferry across to the beautiful island home of Waterford Castle Hotel & Golf Resort. Bring the kids, granny and granddad, your next door neighbour and even the family dog, as this really is a day that everyone can enjoy.
On the castle’s croquet lawn, relax and enjoy the sumptuous BBQ prepared by the Castle kitchens, treat yourself to some sweet goodies from the BoHo Kitchen stall or an artisan Ice Cream from Butlers Ice Cream Cart.
Adults can take this opportunity to sit back and relax while the children get involved with all the fun complimentary kid’s activities on the day including Sand Pit Fun, Face-Painting and Arts & Crafts and much more!
The more energetic can take part in the unique and picturesque Island Run, which has gained in popularity each year and become an annual event in keen runner’s diaries. The 5km race starts at 1pm at the 16th Century Waterford Castle around the beautiful tree lined avenue of Waterford Castle Island.
The €20 race entry includes a dri-fit running t-shirt, a goodie bag and a free post-race BBQ for finishers, with all participants vying for the fantastic overall prize which includes an overnight stay at the luxurious Waterford Castle Hotel or its sister property Kinnitty Castle Hotel in Co.
