Mayor closes term with Spraoi
Wednesday, 27th June 2012
In one of the final engagements of his term of office, Mayor Pat Hayes joined members of Spraoi to celebrate 20 years of the flagship festival. The Mayor was a founding patron of the fledgling festival in 1993 and has been an active supporter since. To mark the festival’s close friendship with Mayor Hayes, Spraoi Director, T.V. Honan, presented Mrs. Bridie Hayes with a framed photograph, by Noel Browne, of the Mayor with members of Spraoi. This year’s festival will be staged from August 3rd to 5th and features a return to a nightime parade, fireworks and performers from nine countries.
