Man found dead invacant premises

A young man in his early 20s has been found dead in a vacant premises in New Street, Waterford city. He is understood to be from the city.
At around 5.30 p.m. on Monday evening two youths rang the local gardai to say they had found the body of a man in the vacant premises.
Local gardai investigated and found the body of the young man. It is understood that he suffered head injuries. The Assistant State Pathologist, Dr. Jaber travelled to Waterford on Tuesday to carry out a post mortem on the dead man.
The Gardai Technical Bureau also visited the scene which has been cordoned off by Waterford Gardai.

The body was found in a vacant premises which formerly was used by the Waterford Institute of Technology as an art college. It has been vacant for some months.
