Renowned Orthodontic experts meet in Waterford
Wednesday, 25th April 2012
Nearly 100 Irish and international orthodontic experts will this week (April 27/28th) hold their biannual meeting in Waterford’s Faithlegg House, and are expected to inject more than €40,000 into the local economy. Local orthodontist, Dr Con O’Keeffe, the current President of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland (OSI), will chair the OSI’s spring sessions. He has practised in Waterford for the past twenty years , and is responsible for the meeting coming to the city.
"I’m really pleased my colleagues are coming here," Dr O’Keeffe said this week. "It’s a great honour for me personally, and it will showcase the city and region to people who might not otherwise visit. And of course their discretionary spending will also help the local economy."
The orthodontists– will be joined this week at Faithlegg by their maxillofacial- surgical colleagues to discuss the most up to date techniques in jaw surgery. ‘’We’re privileged to have really eminent speakers this weekend," Dr O’Keeffe added. "We’ve got American Dr Vince Kokich , Drs Marco Tribo and Albino Triaca from Zurich, as well as Prof Leo Stassen, Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at TCD."
