For every carwash Maxol will make a €2 donation to the Simon Community
Maxol Ireland has announced the return of its ‘Suds for Simon’ carwash fundraising campaign as part of the company’s charity partnership with the Simon Communities in Ireland. ‘Suds for Simon’ Carwash Week will run from Monday 23rd through to Sunday 29th April. During this week, motorists are encouraged to avail of Maxol carwash facilities at participating service stations in the knowledge that €2 from every car wash will be donated directly to the Simon Communities. The funds raised are particularly timely for Simon as funding remains under pressure in the current economic climate.
Speaking at the launch, Brian Donaldson, Maxol’s General Manager, Marketing and Retail said "Maxol is proud to work with the Simon Community as the company’s nominated charity partner for a second year running. We hope that by hosting ‘Suds for Simon’ carwash week, we can raise money and awareness of the issue of homelessness in Ireland. Each local Simon Community provides a lifeline to many individuals and families."
Patrick Quinn, Simon Communities spokesperson said "This is a great initiative which we hope will raise much needed funds for the Simon Communities across Ireland. During ‘Suds for Simon’ carwash week (23-29 April) we ask motorists to support Simon by getting their car washed at their participating local Maxol service station."
Maxol is keen to highlight to motorists the extent to which proceeds from each carwash can easily build up to support people experiencing homelessness in practical ways, for example;
- €5 will help provide a hot nutritious meal for a person who is homeless.
- €10 will help to provide a warm bed for a night.
- €30 could help provide a warm winter coat, or a pair of shoes or some hats and gloves.
Patrick Quinn continued "The current economic crisis is impacting on us all, but mostly it is affecting those on living on margins of our society; people who are homeless, those at risk of homelessness and people with many related needs. We continue to be creative and innovative working in partnership with voluntary and statutory bodies and our corporate supporters like Maxol".
‘Suds for Simon’ carwash week is the perfect time to get your car in tip top shape as the bright summer days approach. It’s an ideal time of year to get your car squeaky clean and and to do your bit to tackle homelessness in Ireland.
Participating service stations are listed on http://www.maxol.ie and will display ‘Suds for Simon’ advertisements on their forecourts.

Google AlertWhen a company which has it's European Headquarters here in Ireland is called 'evil' and 'immoral' by M.P.s in The House of Commons you tend to sit up and take notice. The particular company that was being referred to was Google and the reason it had enraged M.P.s in London was because even though it has a big operation there and conducts a lot of business there it pays no corporate tax. It does this by having all of its financial transactions finished here in Ireland. And the company here is …
