Mohammad Ali’s gloves go on view at Waterford Museum of Treasures

To mark the 70th birthday of Muhammad Ali a pair of his signed boxing gloves has gone on display at Reception at Waterford Museum of Treasures at the Bishop’s Palace on the Mall. The gloves have been loaned to the museum by Tom Murphy of Tom Murphy Car Sales, Waterford. Ali, an Olympic an gold medallist in 1960 before following a professional career dubbed his boxing style as ‘Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.’ These autographed gloves were gifted to Tom Murphy by Larry Profancik, Ali’s Public Relations agent to mark the Greatest’s 70th birthday in January of this year. Eamonn McEneaney, Director of Waterford Museum of Treasures thanked Tom Murphy for his extraordinary generosity in loaning these iconic items to the museum.
