Waterford Final call for all budding Waterford models with specs appeal
Wednesday, 27th July 2011
ACTRESS Kara Tointon teamed up with Specsavers in Waterford as they launched the nationwide search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2011. With the closing date for entries just around the corner, Specsavers is urging any budding models from Waterford to get involved and enter this year's competition.
Every year, Specsavers scours the counties of Ireland to find the girls and boys next door who look amazing in their specs. The competition is open to men and women aged 16 and over, who are current specs wearers or wear glasses for fashion purposes. Specsavers has been busy specs-spotting this summer up and down the country but with just a few days remaining, Specsavers is calling all spectacle wearers to come forward and enter the nationwide search for Ireland's Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2011.
Garvan Mulligan, store director at Specsavers in Waterford, says: ‘We see so many people in the store who look absolutely amazing in their glasses. The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to shout about the talent right on our doorstep who wear their specs with pride and plenty of style – and who are great role models for younger specs wearers to aspire to.'
Regional stars will earn a place on the catwalk at Ireland's biggest spectacle fashion-fest, the Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year Final in Dublin, on the 31st August 2011. The winner will win one year's representation with Assets Model Agency, a make-up master class with top make-up artist Zoe Clarke, a fashion portfolio shoot with Ireland's top photographer Lili Forberg, a €215 Specsavers eyecare voucher and the prestigious Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2011 trophy.
As if that's not enough, the spectacular winner will also be entered into the International Grand Final in London. The overall winner will receive a one year modelling contract with MOT Models, a two week premier, all-inclusive holiday for two in Barbados or St Lucia courtesy of Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays with €250 worth of spending money, a makeover with TV celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, a year's supply of skincare products from Simple, a fantastic goody bag including hair and skincare products, a €215 Specsavers eyecare voucher and the coveted Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2011 trophy.
