The soft side of the beast...and then came the thaw

Following on the worst snowstorm in decades Waterford City and County Council are now dealing with the thaw aftermath.

The general consensus of opinion is that the Local Authority and Emergency Services played a blinder in ensuring that the main roads were kept clear and that gritting took place on a regular basis.

Great praise was also given to neighbours and farmers who showed real community spirit.
