Waterford U3A welcomes Professor Tom Hayden, Emeritus Professor of Zoology at UCD for its January talk. Professor Hayden is also the country’s leading expert on Irish deer. Tom’s talk is entitled Bees and People and promises to be very relevant and informative and entertaining. The world of bees is fascinating and the connection between ourselves and bees cannot be overstated. The talk takes place at the Edmund Rice Heritage Centre (Mt Sion), Barrack St, Waterford on Monday January 8 at 2 pm. Everyone is welcome. Admission €5 for non- members. Membership available on the day.

    Religious ToleranceAt a public meeting last week to discuss the plans for a new mosque in Kilkenny, it seemed that out of the crowd of approximately 200 that attended, the overwhelming majority were against the idea.
