SECOND HALF COMEBACK FOR TEN-MAN BLUES

Kevin O’Connor’s second half goal was enough for The Blues to claim a share of the points last Friday night inthe first home match of the second half of the FirstDivision season against Galway.

The Blues concededafter just four minutes before centre back Paddy Barrettpicked up a second yellow card with 13 minutesremaining. Andrew O’Connor’s cross, on his first teamdebut, caused confusion and allowed Kevin O’Connorto lob the ball over the Galway keeper and defence intothe empty net for a 1-1 draw with ten minutes remaining.

BLUES HEAD FOR TOLKA PARK THIS FRIDAY

The Blues make their third trip to Tolka Park this seasonon Friday to face second placed Shelbourne. TheBlues grabbed a 3-3 draw in the opening league meetingin Tolka Park, before a narrow 1-0 defeat in theFAI Cup just before the break. PRIZE DRAW WINNER DRAWN

Well done to Clive Power who was drawn as the winnerof the Blues Prize Draw that took place on Friday. Thewinning ticket was draw by club chairman John O’Sullivanat half time in front of the main stand during theBlues’ 1-1 draw at home to Galway on Friday last. Theprize is a trip to the Nou Camp to see a Barcelonamatch next season. The prize includes flights, accommodationand two match tickets. BLUES U19S SET FOR RETURN TO ACTION

After a very successful trip to the Karel Stegemantournament in the Netherlands with last seasons batchof Blues Under 19s, it’s been all systems go for the staffof the under 19s as they have been busy during themonth of June preparing for the upcoming new seasonwhich will kick off in August/ September. During JuneJohnny and the coaches have held four different assessmentdays and have looked at over 30 players fromright across the South East Region. The squad is due tobe finalised shortly and we will have a full squad announcement.

    Crime & PunishmentIt seems that not a week goes by without some media stories about murder, manslaughter and assaults assailing the general public.
