Airdream - even greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions
Citroën Motors Ireland is pleased to announce the Irish launch of the new Berlingo Airdream van, which uses Citroën’s unique new e-HDi Airdream micro-hybrid drivetrain. This advanced drivetrain delivers exceptional combined cycle fuel efficiency of up to 4.7 L/100km and CO2 emissions as low as 123g/km.
The new Berlingo Airdream’s micro-hybrid drivetrain incorporates the latest Euro 5 HDi 90 diesel engine, which develops 90hp @ 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 159lb.ft @ 1,500rpm. This engine is equipped with Stop & Start technology, which uses an advanced micro-hybrid starter/generator to restart the engine quickly and smoothly. The system also benefits from regenerative braking to recover and store energy that would otherwise be lost when slowing down.
In addition, the Berlingo Airdream drivetrain incorporates Citroën’s EGS6 automated manual gearbox, which further improves fuel efficiency and also provides the benefits of two pedal driving, with a choice of automatic or manual
(by steering column mounted paddles) shift modes.
Benefits of the new Berlingo Airdream include:
- fuel efficiency improved by up to 15% in city driving
- CO2 emissions reduced by up to17g/km in EU test cycle
- advanced Stop & Start system provides fast restart times
- two pedal driving comfort/convenience
The new Berlingo Airdream is now available in e-HDi 90 Airdream EGS6 L1 625 LX and e-HDi 90 Airdream EGS6 L2 750 LX versions, priced from just €13,045* ex VAT. The newly launched Berlingo Airdream van benefits from the restyling that was introduced on the award-winning Berlingo van range earlier this year. This includes a wider grille, new chevron badge and a new headlight layout. The lower part of the grille, with its wider air intake, can be fitted with optional static cornering lights integrated with the fog lights.
The latest Berlingo models also have more aerodynamic door mirrors to help reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions. The rear has revised badging and all Berlingo vans, except X models, gain new ‘Feroe’ wheel trims and new ‘Gazyban’ trim in the cab.

In addition, Berlingo HDi 75 manual L1 625 X and LX vans now have an improved combined cycle fuel economy figure of 5.1L/100km (previously 5.2L/100km) and lower CO2 emissions of 133g/km (previously 136g/km). The combined cycle fuel economy of Berlingo HDi 90 manual L1 models has also improved to 5.3L/100km (previously 5.4L/100km) and CO2 emissions have been reduced to 138g/km (previously 140g/km).
Sean O’Neill, Citroën Motors Ireland Ltd’s Fleet Manager, comments; "The new Berlingo Airdream van and the latest changes made to the facelifted Berlingo van range will further boost the popularity of this, our best-selling LCV. At a time when costs are rising, our customers will appreciate the fact that all Berlingos use less fuel and have lower CO2 emissions."

Google AlertWhen a company which has it's European Headquarters here in Ireland is called 'evil' and 'immoral' by M.P.s in The House of Commons you tend to sit up and take notice. The particular company that was being referred to was Google and the reason it had enraged M.P.s in London was because even though it has a big operation there and conducts a lot of business there it pays no corporate tax. It does this by having all of its financial transactions finished here in Ireland. And the company here is …
