No Shortage of Action

WRC continues to grind out the results as the season winds down. At round 7 of the SRAM Comeragh League our A4 section dominated with Brian O'Keeffe, Brian Murphy, Adrian Dalton and Eamonn Ryan 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 10th respectively. Round 7 of the Waterford Criterium League was a similar success with Robin Kelly taking victory on the night and Brian O'Keeffe finishing 5th to take over the red jersey for best A4 rider. The best ride of the night however was Keith Gater who finished in 2nd. This was Keith's first time back on the result's sheets after a crash last summer left him requiring 3 operations on his right leg. Great to have you back Keith!

Round 8 of the SRAM Comeragh League brought further success for the club when a powerful leadout train delivered Mark Gunning to his second win of the series to move him up to 2nd overall in the league. Robin was 3rd on the night, whilst Mark Crowley was 10th. At the 8th round of the Waterford Criterium League, Mark Nugent took a narrow victory to put him into the overall leaders yellow jersey ahead of Davy Walsh of Slaney CC (Enniscorthy).

On Friday night last Mark Nugent finished 8th in the National Criterium Championships in Mullingar, whilst his teammates Robin Kelly, David Quigley, Eamonn Ryan, Shane O'Donoghue, Mark Gunning and Pierre De Leastar represented us in the Mullingar 2 day stage race on Saturday and Sunday. Pierre was a superb 11th on stage 1 but Robin was our form rider taking 4th in the first 2 stages before winning the final stage and finishing 4th overall on GC.

Finally, get well soon to club member Adrian Dalton who broke his collarbone in a crash at the Munster Road Race Championships in Cork on Sunday.

There is little about summit meeting that the …
