Running with a legend

Four members from the TREO Project in Waterford City took part in the annual John Treacy Fun Run on May 27th in Villierstown, Co. Waterford - home town of the great man himself. The routes on offer were a 1km, 5km and 7.5km. But the challenge for these individuals didn't begin on that day, it started six weeks previous when they signed up for Waterford Sports Partnership's 5k Challenge. This was a fitness programme facilitated by Sheamus Doyle of Balance Fitness. Every Thursday, come hail, rain or shine, Sheamus prepared these individuals for the challenge that lay ahead and offered tips and ideas that would assist them in accomplishing their goal. Waterford Sports Partnership would like to congratulate Shannon, Josh and Helen for completing the 5km and Ray who completed the 7.5km. A special mention must go to Shannon and Josh as the 5km was the furthest they have ever run to date. Well done.
