Waterford's Kate Veale impresses in Russia

Kate Veale (West Waterford AC) finished and impressive sixth in the 10km Junior Walk at the IAAF World Cup of Race Walking in Saransk, Russia on Saturday 12th May . The World Youth Champion crossed the line in 46:53 which was just off her personal best of 46:32.
The race was held in sweltering conditions and Veale faced a number of top class International athletes. Veale demonstrated her class by crossing the line less than a minute behind the winner
Sandra Arenas of Columbia 45:57. Veale will sit her Leaving cert exams in a few weeks before targeting the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona in early July.
