Youth League Villa 0 -1 Bohs

Following the disappointment of the Munster Final on Sunday lads this bunch of lads showed tremendous character and belief to bounce back and achieve a fantastic result away to Villa in a top of the table Youth league match on Tuesday night last. These Bohs lads were away on Sunday in Tralee for up to 14 hours and then to have this fixture so soon after was daunting to say the least but to their credit they put in a huge performance and deservedly won 1-0. Villa never make it easy for any team especially at home but on the night this Bohs squad proved what a great squad they are and with the winner coming from Colm Morris after 65 minutes, have now put themselves in a clear position to win the youth league. Well done to all involved.

Champions of the Youth League

Youth League Tramore 0 – 4 Bohs

On Easter Sunday on a beautiful after noon Bohs secured the three points needed to win the youth league with one game left to play. The result was never in doubt with Bohs starting the brighter and penning Tramore back in their own half. Tramore are a well organised and workman like team and make you work hard to get the better of them. A well struck shot from David Purcell and a Reece Rooney header from a set piece gave us a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time but with Tramore continuing to work very hard to try to penetrate our defence we had to concentrate and remain on our toes for this whole match. Two second half goals from Michael Orpen and Dean Hayes gave us a comfortable 4-0 victory and the Youth League title.

Dylan Power was the quieter of the two keepers in this match but a special mention as he made two top class saves in this game to ensure we ended with a clean sheet.

70th Dinner Dance

Our Dinner Dance is fast approaching on June 10th in The Tower Hotel. On the night we will have a slide show covering all seventy years of our existence. As well as printing the names of club members past and present in these notes each week, we hope that our slide show will capture faces and names of as many Red & Blacks as is possible. It will be impossible to ensure that everyone connected with our club over the past seven decades will be mentioned either in print or by photo, but we will do our level best. Any reader, club member, ex player or ex committee member who has photos or details of our club please contact Mark Fitzgerald or any member of the club. All are welcome to the Dinner Dance but if interested please ensure you purchase your tickets early from any member of the club.

Not so GR8 G8With world attention on Fermanagh as the meeting place of the latest G8 Summit it is no wonder that locals are basking in the reflected spotlight. We have all been told, if we haven't already experienced at first hand, the beauty of the location. We know about the exclusiveness of the hotels that the various leaders are going to be staying as well as some of their security detail. We know about the menus from which they will be choosing from. There is little about summit meeting that the …
