All Ireland Minor Schools Silver for St. Declans

Darragh O'Rourke swimming for St Declans School Waterford won at the recent All Ireland Minor Schools gala two Silver Medals. Competing under ten Darragh won Silver in the 50m freestyle event in a time of 32.66 secs, and in the 50m butterfly he repeated the performance winning Silver with a time of 39.15secs. Speaking the day after the race, Darragh still smiling said that he cannot wait until next year as he will be eligible to compete under ten again and aims to win gold.

Clodagh Murphy -Gaelscoil, Denise O'Connor – Presentation, and Sadbh O'Suillivan – Ursuline, all reached finals in what was a remarkable achievement for the Club.

Clodagh was just off the medals finishing fourth in the 50m breaststroke, Denise came 6th in the medley and Sadbh came 6th in both the medley and fly. Congratulations to all Swimmers, and their Schools.

Munster grade A Distance Gala

Eighteen Crystal swimmers travelled to Mayfield Sports centre Cork, on the 09/12/07 to compete for the annual Munster distance Gala.

Medal winners were boys: Cionnat Breathnach 2 gold, Peter Doyle 2 bronze, James Hassey gold and silver, Joe Murphy 2 gold, Darragh O'Rourke 1 bronze, and David O'Suillivan 1 bronze.

Fund Raising

A reminder to parents and swimmers that their presence is required at Tesco Poleberry this weekend (Thursday-Saturday) to help with bag packing.

Pool closed 31st and 1st Wednesday to Saturday, 2nd to 4th Jan 9.30 to 12 noon.; Saturday 5th normal hours.
