The Tramore Hill Challenge is a one of a kind cycle event in Ireland that takes place on the steep hill of Tramore' s main street on Sunday 16th June 2013. After a gap of a year the Tramore Hill challenge returns for its second event and is planned for many years to come. Joey Hannon Triathlon

Six WTC members travelled to the University of Limerick campus on Sunday 28th April to compete in Limerick Triathlon Clubs annual sprint and olympic distance triathlons. It was a pool based triathlon with some 600 competitors competing for valuable National Series points. Shane Scadding and Anne Hennebry competed in the olympic distance, completing 30 lengths of the pool (1,500m), a 40km bike leg, finished off with a 10km run. Despite swimming an extra two lengths (not his fault) and falling off his bike in transition, Shane finished in 2:02:48 in 10th place overall and won his age group (again!). Anne also had an excellent race and finished in 2:42.36, also winning her age group. In the sprint distance race (Swim 750m, Bike 20km, run 5km) Kieran Jackson finished 3rd overall in 1:00:58. Top class show jumping at Sunday' s Aglish Gymkhana

A host of Ireland' s top show jumping horses and riders will descend on the West Waterford village of Aglish this Sunday, as the annual Aglish Charity Gymkhana takes place. Always one of the highlights on the equestrian calendar, the Aglish Gymkhana was named National Show of the Year in 2010 and Waterford/Tipperary show of the year in 2012.

The highlight in the main arena will be the second round of the Connolly' s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix League with €2,000 up for grabs. Tadgh Beecher from Tallow, Co. Waterford riding Loughnatusa Blakeney claimed the opening round of the league at Ballylawn, and he will be among the favourites to lift the trophy at Aglish, but with three Waterford riders at the top of the standings last time out, Beecher is just

Pillar-to-Post win for Gymstar Jumbo

Last Saturday night' s card showcased the semi-finals of the O Mahony Family, Portlaw A4 event, the final of a Novice marathon stake plus the semi-finals of the Remember Billy Ryan and John Davis A2 event.

The Tommy Mahoney owned Gymstar Jumbo (Crash-Ma Ma Blue) was dispatched as the 4/5 market leader to capture the marathon decider and the Model County dog did not disappoint leading all the way from trap five in a smart 40.72. Coming away in front ' Gymstar' never saw another rival as he kicked clear of Brunswick Reg. Despite staying wide on the bends ' Gymstar' freewheeled to a six lengths success over a running on Pronto Aideen.
