Waterford United win again in Elite Under 19 League
Waterford United 4 Bray Wanderers 0
Waterford United qualified for the quarter finals of the Elite Under 19 League by defeating Bray Wanderers at the RSC on Saturday last. They have also stretched their lead at the top of the Southern section of the league and two more victories from their remaining for games will see them crowned champions. A win in Wexford this weekend and a home victory against Shamrock Roves the following week will be enough for Johnny Browne's excellent team. If they do win the Southern section, which now looks odds on, they will play the team which finishes 4th in the Northern section in the last eight of the overall league.
The hosts were denied the opening goal inside four minutes by a brilliant double save from Bray Wanderers goalkeeper

DESERVED POINT FOR WATERFORD HURLERS
The Waterford Senior Hurlers opened their Allianz National League campaign with a fully deserved draw against Limerick at Gaelic Grounds on Saturday last. There was a sizable crowd of over three and a half thousand at the Ennis Road venue to see the clash of two of the faniced teams in the division. Both camps were well aware that a win could set up a fruitful campaign while defeat would put the loser on the "back foot". Waterford manager Derek McGrath and his backroom team have been introducing a number of new faces to the Waterford lineup so it was no surprise to see a start for Modeligo clubman Tom Devine at midfield and Ballyduff Upper forward Michael Kearney in the attack. Other than both these inclusions the fifteen started much as expected with a few

FOOTBALLERS LOSE FIRST GAME OF YEAR
Waterford Senior Footballers suffered their first defeat of the the current campaign as they lost out to Offaly at a fog shrouded Tullamore on Sunday last in the Allianz National League. The final scoreline 0-14 to 1-4 is perhaps not a true reflection of the game although one must acknowledge the Midlanders thoroughly deserved their victory. The win for the Pat Flanagan outfit keepes them on top of the division but Waterford following this defeat have three weeks to prepare for the visit of Carlow.
Both teams opened brightly with Joseph O'Connor and Shane Ahearne sharing points. The home side added a brace of scores before Waterford were dealt a real hammer blow when influential midfielder Shane Ahearne was yellow carded for a second time and the Deise were down on personnel. The visitors battled bravely

Waterford maintains winning ways
The opening round of the Allianz National Football League saw Waterford continue their winning ways with a 0-14 to 0-10 win over Wicklow in Fraher Field Dungarvan on Saturday evening. Fresh from their McGrath Cup victory the Deise were well aware that Wicklow would prove a tough obstacle as the men from the Garden County had shown some good form in their O'Byrne Cup outings earlier in the month. In recent times Waterford have shown an inconsistency but their form so far has been full of encouragement. Wicklow have always been a difficult assignmant for Waterford and Ballymun Kickhams clubman Johnny McGee was sure to have the Leinster representatives in prime condition. Two point at stake for both teams but just as important for Waterford was to continue their good run of form.
Conditions were bitterly cold for

In turn this seems to create a real climate of fear around the way in which people tend to live their lives. Whether or not this should be the way that things should be is another matter.Th …
