Aries: March 21 – April 20
For some of you Arians who might have had a harder time than most, this promises to be a week of joy and laughter and re-unions maybe one or two surprises but all in all you will be glad to be alive. The feeling is that surprise gatherings will bring different choices for you – perhaps talk of travel to more exotic places will be a part of those unfolding opportunities which should not be dismissed out of hand.
Taurus: April 21 – May 21
Expect one or two upheavals, the odd emotional outbursts, one or two differences of opinions, which you should be able to take in your stride certainly if you have found time to read this column anyway for nothing need phase you, because, if you have managed to get this far through this peculiar year then you are capable of anything. Find time to light a candle though, for a lost loved one.
Gemini: May 22 – June 21
There is a feeling that, as these next two or three weeks wind their way into history, there is the possibility of a career change, or maybe a chance of taking an existing situation in a different direction. You might also discover that a plan you have nurtured for some time now is almost ready to be launched. Perhaps realise that though businesses around this amazing land are in difficulties, there has never been a better time for those individuals with an entrepreneurial streak.
Cancer: June 22 – July 22
Money is, has been tight, and the temptation to look for consolidation of loans is very strong, particularly as the long holidays unfold. However there is a feeling that that temptation should be resisted for a little longer anyway as it seems as if another, hitherto un-noticed financial lifesaver is about to be found. But whatever you do please check the small print that whispers of usurious interest rates so quietly that most people fail to take them into account.
Leo: July 23 – August 23
This year will have, in the most part brought many things to be grateful for and though there is much to complain about, we are at least, still standing. No matter what the world has thrown at us Leos over the last year or two, we have survived even thrived in the hurley-burley of it all. Knowing that gives you strength and confidence to face the interesting events of August and September wherein the reason for this year becomes apparent, and a door opens to a fresh start in October.
Virgo: August 24 – Sep 23
It seems that, in spite of a shortage of money, there is a feeling that as a need arises, so the answer to that need is close to hand. That worrying only exacerbates what wasn’t really a problem in the first place. Perhaps this is a week when you Virgoans can leave your fretting hat in the cupboard, and just let down your hair and enjoy yourselves along with everyone else. Surprises you have been keeping under your hat will prove to be a delight for swignificant others.
Libra: Sept 24th - Oct 23
There was once a woman who ran an outback station in Australia, a writer in her spare time and she said something appropriate to well all of us really "Don’t wait for the light to appear at the end of the tunnel, why don’t you just stride down to the end of it and light the bloody thing yourself?" I might have said this to you before, but maybe you didn’t do it. Now though, it is more apposite than ever.
Scorpio: Oct 24 - Nov 22
This is a time for fun and frolics in the sunshine wherever it is. So don’t let anything get in the way of you enjoying yourself. Which means, I suppose, that if anyone is putting obstacles in the way of your pleasure then don’t let them! Love and laughter, food and fun will be the order of your particular week. And maybe the odd glass of something red and alcoholic will not go amiss – but stay sober if you have to drive home.
Sagittarius: Nov 23 - Dec 21st
There is just time if you have planned events or functions to get out and catch up with anything that might have been forgotten. And, particularly during this summer of more than usually unreliable weather, if you are doing anything in the open air, have an alternative venue in case the heavens open. An item discovered in a small forgotten corner of someone’s life might well prove to have an important part to play in the family fortunes.
Capricorn: Dec 22 - Jan 21
Remember now, over this special time, friends of your life old ones, new ones, loved ones, neglected ones. And act appropriately. Make calls, check your facebook (if you have one) and restock the larder of your life. Maybe those old friends have been thinking of you too, and someone has to make the first move. A sporting event grips you for a particular reason – is it the Olympics? And if so, I wonder what that reason might be?
Aquarius: Jan 22 - Feb 19th
You might just find time during these first few days of August to stop a while, to look at where you have experienced so far this year perhaps find an opportunity to celebrate your achievements rather than focus, as much of the media has been doing, on the difficulties that have assailed many of us. And if you have learned from what you have seen, and done, then you can look forward to the last quarter of the year with eagar anticipation.
Pisces: Feb 20 - March 20
There have been one or two fairly sensitive issues to deal with over the last couple of months, and if you have finalised them, put them where they can harm no-one, then you can look forward to a special couple of high summer months. You will also be able to sort out financial loose ends lest they come back to bite you later. But all in all the road ahead looks quite bright for most of my Piscean friends.

Google AlertWhen a company which has it's European Headquarters here in Ireland is called 'evil' and 'immoral' by M.P.s in The House of Commons you tend to sit up and take notice. The particular company that was being referred to was Google and the reason it had enraged M.P.s in London was because even though it has a big operation there and conducts a lot of business there it pays no corporate tax. It does this by having all of its financial transactions finished here in Ireland. And the company here is …
