Simply Be.ie, Ireland's online fashion house for curvy ladies, have launched its nationwide search to find the new cover girl for the Simply Be Spring/ Summer 2013 catalogue. The competition is looking for curvy Waterford ladies to enter this year! The competition, in its sixth year has introduced a new twist! Simply Be has teamed up with TV3's Xpose to produce a two day boot camp, with a host of experts from the Irish fashion industry to identify the company's 2013 cover girl.
Over the past five years the Simply Be Curvy competition has grown from strength to strength and receives thousands of entrants every year. The competition celebrates the curvaceous figure, while also giving the winner a fantastic platform to launch a career in modelling or fashion. Over the past five years the competition has instilled confidence and launched the careers of some of Ireland's most successful plus size models including Karen Forde ( Miss Curvy), Tia Duffy, Louise O'Reilly and Brianna Connaughton.
This year twenty curvy ladies will be selected from the regional heats to attend a two day bootcamp in Dublin in Autumn where they will be put through their paces by a panel of fashion experts. The experts include Model Agent, Celia Holman Lee, Fashion Photographer Lili Forberg, Hair Stylist to the Stars, Michael Leong and Fashion Stylist, Sonja Mohlich.
Speaking about the competition, Simply Be's Commercial Director, Brenda O'Sullivan said,"We are very proud of how the Simply Be Curvy competition has grown over the years and feel we have impacted both the media and model agencies to put more emphasis on the curvy model category. This year's Simply Be Curvy 2013 will partner with Xpose which will further project Ireland's curvy ladies on a national platform. This year we are offering not only a chance to become Simply Be's 2013 cover girl, but also our twenty finalists will have the opportunity to be trained by a team of Ireland's leading fashion experts and appear on Xpose! Our aim is to make a modelling dream come true.
