Not many people know much about adrenal fatigue and yet many people are suffering from it. The test for adrenal imbalance is not commonly put into practice in this country. A simple saliva, blood or urine test would give us the accurate information as to how our adrenal glands are functioning.
The adrenal glands are a very powerful gland. They sit on top of our kidneys like a cap and they produce adrenalin, which is harmless in the system as it gets burnt up in a matter of minutes. The adrenals also produce cortisol, which is known as the stress hormone. More and more people are going to therapists because of the stress they're put under in their daily life.
If you're under stress or if your body's not functioning properly, your adrenal glands will produce more cortisol to give you more energy to work long hours, fight stress or deal with a physical ailment. After time, the adrenal glands can get overworked and tired and cortisol levels drop in the body. The adrenals cannot produce enough cortisol, and this is known as adrenal fatigue. If the cortisol levels go too low it can cause Addisons disease but most people sufler with adrenal fatigue.
How does it affect you?
Physically, it makes you anxious and tense all of the time. Mentally, it firstly affects our concentration and our memory. Secondly, it causes our mind to overwork and it begins to over-think and over-analyse things. Thirdly, you lose motivation in life. Even things that you would have previously loved doing and enjoyed become a bit an effort and bother. The last stage is that it affects peoples sleeping pattems, either going to sleep or staying asleep, mainly because the mind is so active. People that suffer with adrenal fatigue will tell you that their dreams become much more vivid and real.
Also, when people are suffering with adrenal fatigue they start to doubt themselves and their ability to do things. ln my opinion, people that suffer with adrenal fatigue over a long period of time experience a change in their quality of life and they can end up being prescribed sleeping or anti-depressant medication which is never going to solve the problem, but in fact make it worse.
Vitamin C is stored in the adrenal glands and is important for balancing the cortisol levels, along with Vitamin E.
Probably the best way of detecting adrenal imbalance (fatigue) along with solving it is reflexology. When your adrenal glands are imbalanced, it makes a huge difference to the quality of your life. In women, it can make them more emotional and 'fly off the handle'. ln men, it also makes them more emotional but makes them more aggressive too (e.g- Road Rage). If you feel or see any of these effects in your life, please do something about it.

Google AlertWhen a company which has it's European Headquarters here in Ireland is called 'evil' and 'immoral' by M.P.s in The House of Commons you tend to sit up and take notice. The particular company that was being referred to was Google and the reason it had enraged M.P.s in London was because even though it has a big operation there and conducts a lot of business there it pays no corporate tax. It does this by having all of its financial transactions finished here in Ireland. And the company here is …
