Specsavers - Vision Aid Overseas

Specsavers Waterford collect 6,000 pairs of frames for Vision Aid Overseas

Specsavers Waterford has been collecting old and unused glasses over the last few years to support the work carried out by Vision Aid Overseas (VAO). VAO's mission is to help people who suffer from vision related disabilities in under-served areas, such as countries like Ghana and Zambia. Specsavers Waterford encouraged people to visit them in-store and donate any old, unused glasses for this worthy cause. To date staff and customers of Specsavers have donated over 6,000 pairs of glasses to Vision Aid Overseas.

Specsavers Store Director Garvan Mulligan says, "The main aim of Vision Aid Overseas is to help visually impaired people in under-served areas reach their fullest potential. Lots of people have old glasses lying around at home with an out of date prescription that are no longer being used. These unwanted glasses can be used by those in need. I would like to extend my gratitude to staff and customers of Specsavers Waterford who have showed their support for this worthy charity over the last few years. These glasses will be a big help to those in need."

Pictured are Specsavers Waterford Staff who would like to say a big thank you to all customers who donated so generously in store.
