A Guide To Setting Goals

Goals can be as big or as small as you want them to be Eg.
- Start getting fit
- Stop nail biting
- Travel the World
The key with any goal is consistently monitoring that particular goal.
HOW TO SET GOALS USING THE GROW MODEL
G = GOAL - Identify your goal, set a deadline for achievement.
- Be specific eg. Instead of setting a goal to start getting fit - set a specific goal to complete 30 mins of fitness activity 5 days per week to lose 7 pounds in 1 month
R = REALITY - What is the reality of the current situation
- Why haven’t you reached this goal already? What is really stopping you?
- What is holding you back from finding a way forward?
O = OPTIONS - What could you do as a first step?
- What else could you do? What options do you have?
- What obstacles are in the way?
- What groups or organisations do you need to work with to achieve your goal?
- What skills and knowledge are required?
W = WAY FORWARD - What are you actually going to do?
- Identify specific steps and write an action plan?
- Write down what’s in it for me?
- Visualise yourself actually achieving your goal eg. Two stone lighter feeling great and much healthier and fitter with all that energy to do whatever you want.
This exercise to is be completed on a separate sheet using the GROW Model. EG.

WAY FORWARD:
When setting goals make sure they are:
S: Specific
M: Measurable
A: Attainable
R: Realistic
T: Tangible
And in line with your values

1) Bow, Arrow, Strength
2) Know your target
3) Focus your aim
4) Shoot:
