Wreath Laying Ceremony

A wreath laying ceremony will be held on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at the Dungarvan WW1 Memorial Wall, beside Johns Castle, Dungarvan. This ceremony is being organized by the Waterford Branch of The Royal British Legion, to remember the men and women from Waterford City and County who fell in the Great War.

Everyone is welcome to attend, relatives of those named on the wall are invited to lay a wreath in their memory.

Comeragh Mountaineering Club

Tom Fallon will lead a walk next Sunday 2nd September to the Skillogues. This is the first walk of the season. Meet at Hypermarket at 10am. Boots essential, food, hot drink advised. This is an easy walk, all details from Dick 086 2652768.

Southside Holistic Coffee Morning Fundraiser

Southside CBDI ran a Holistic Coffee Morning/ Fundraiser on Thursday 16th of August in the SHY Centre, St. Johns Park. The objective was to raise money for resources for the centre and I'm glad to say we met our target. The project is just taking the time to say, "Big Thanks" to all who helped on the day. The project could not have pulled it off, without the dedication of both the long-term volunteers and the people who came specifically to do treatments on the day. Not only did the project raise the funds it needed but a space for people to meet outside of the home and contribute to their community was created. I would like to mention a number of people and business's that sponsored spot prizes for the raffle: Dawn Meats, Roman's Caf

    Even though the weather Gods didn’t exactly play ball over the weekend it doesn’t take away from the fact that this years Waterford Harvest Festival was yet again another wonderful success. It was great to see the streets of the centre of the city so beautifully and thoughtfully decked out. The various food stalls offering tastes from all over were great to wander around.
