Annual Cemetery Mass

'The Annual Cemetery Mass will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner, on Thursday 21st June 2018 at 7.30pm’.

Fenor Bingo


Fenor Bingo will take on Friday 15th June at Fenor National School at 8pm. Bus will leave shop at Riverstown at 7.15pm. Great night assured, come and enjoy. Dates for your Diary; Dunhill Graveyard Mass will take place Tuesday 10th July and. Fenor Graveyard Mass will take place on Tuesday 17th July, Both at 7.30 pm.

Samaritans seek volunteers

The increased demand for our service means that Samaritans Waterford & Southeast are always looking for new volunteers. If this is something that would interest you we would love to hear from you. The Annual Masses in the following Cemeteries are coming up. Killea, Dunmore East this evening Wednesday June 14th at 7.30 p.m. Crooke, Passage East Tuesday June 19th at 7.30pm.

Tramore Hospice coffee morning

The next coffee morning in 2018 in aid of The Tramore Hospice Support Group will be in The Banyan Restaurant at 11.00am on Thursday 14th June. This is a convenient location for us and we are delighted to accept their kind invitation to avail of their hospitality. We are looking forward to a very sociable Coffee Morning and we can expect a great atmosphere there to continue the fundraising this year for Waterford Hospice. We look forward to a great turnout and of course we will have a raffle for some unusual and exciting prizes.

Puppet Show

A FREE Puppet Show "Goldilocks & the Three Bears" takes place at Ferrybank Library Don’t miss the opportunity to see a puppet show by renowned puppeteer Miriam Lambert at Ferrybank Library on Saturday June 23rd at 11.00am – 11.45am. Waterford Philosophical Society

Bloomsday Celebrations - Commencing 6.30 p.m., 16th June, at the Vintage Parlour Tea Rooms. Reading Ulysses: A Guide for the Perplexed. This lecture will outline some of the ways in which Joyce’s epic novel can be approached by first–time readers. While the general biographical and literary contexts of Ulysses will be discussed, close readings of key passages from the text will also be provided. Live performances of songs that are mentioned within the novel will feature during intervals in the night’s proceedings. This talk will conclude with an extended question and answer session in which participants will be encouraged to speak about aspects of Ulysses that are of most interest to them. Text Alert system for Dunmore East area

A new Text Alert System is presently being set-up in the Sub District of Dunmore East. This area includes Dunmore East, Killea, Coxtown, Creadan, Ballymacaw, Brownstown, Faloon, Ballake and Clohernagh. Over the coming Summer months, a Sub District of Dunmore East Text Alert Committee Member will call to homes in these areas to advise on how the Text Alert System operates and will seek your support for this initiative. Please be aware all of the Text Alert Committee Members calling to homes in these areas will produce Photo ID.

Mount Melleray family day

The Diocese of Waterford and Lismore in anticipation of World Meeting of Families is hosting a Diocesan Fun Day on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm at Mount Melleray Abbey. The purpose of the event is to celebrate family reflect on the importance of family in our lives and to celebrate the Joy of Love. We are calling all sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers & sisters to join us on Sunday, June 24th for a picnic and activities. We will have music, face painting, a bouncy castle & an obstacle course, kite making, treasure hunts, arts & crafts, tours of the Abbey, prayer service, candle ritual, and much, much more. This is a free event and there is something for everyone of all ages. People can bring a picnic or there will be food, coffee and tea available for purchase.

The Pharmacy Department from University Hospital Waterford have been shortlisted as a finalist in the following categories, Innovation and Service Development Award 2018 and Medisource Hospital Pharmacy Technician of the Year 2018 (Deirdre Sharp Senior Pharmacy Technician) at the upcoming Hospital Professional Awards 2018. This year’s awards have drawn a record number of entries and competition is sure to be fierce as HPN’s panel of expert, independent judges sit down to select the winners.
