Run of the week
This weeks run will get you prepared for the upcoming Splashworld 10k in Tramore. It's a challenging and scenic course and a great run all round. Start at Splashworld, exit onto the main road and take upper branch road to the Vee cafe. Turn right here and all the way up Main street then grab a breather once you get to the top and head out along Priests road. Continue on to Newtown hill and onto Newtown road where another climb awaits up towards Rocketts pub. Just before Rocketts take the road to the left and follow right around past the metal man and down to the Guillamenes. Continue along Cliff road to the roundabout at the bottom of Newtown hill then take Church road all the way to Gallweys hill and you're on the home straight to Splashworld. Full course map at www.balance.ie. Try it out then give it a go for real on Sunday March 27th. (details below)

Spring Clean
Spring is in the air, perfect timing then for an internal Spring clean. The jury is out on the benefits of so called detoxes but every now and then it's worth cutting out the bad habits and introducing better ones when it comes to your diet. Here's our current top three to put a spring in your step.
Watermelon - Great source of several vitamins and antioxidants including B vitamins and Vitamin C. Cleansing and refreshing.
Carrot Juice - Again a good source of vitamins including Vitamins A and E. Hold your nose if you have to, it's worth it.
Yogi Detox tea - Cut out the coffee and tea and make this your daily cuppa and you'll really spring to life.
Quick Pick
You can also spring to life with this quick pick - banana muffin and a shot of Badger and Dodo coffee. You can get it at the T-Bay surf cafe in Tramore which is the closest you'll get to a bit of real cafe culture in these parts. The setting is perfect, looking straight across to surf and sea. The menu is clutter free and tasty. The vibe is chilled and friendly. The coffee is from our favourite roaster, Badger and Dodo, and the muffins are magic. The last time we got this good a combo by the sea we were in Sydney. Now there's an equivalent a lot closer. Quick picks just got better.
Until next time. Think fitness think Balance.

Google AlertWhen a company which has it's European Headquarters here in Ireland is called 'evil' and 'immoral' by M.P.s in The House of Commons you tend to sit up and take notice. The particular company that was being referred to was Google and the reason it had enraged M.P.s in London was because even though it has a big operation there and conducts a lot of business there it pays no corporate tax. It does this by having all of its financial transactions finished here in Ireland. And the company here is …
