Pamper & Style Evening

An evening of fashion, style, makeup & beauty takes place in The Tower Hotel Waterford on Thursday May 25th from 7-10pm. The evening will features talks , demo's, tips and advice from local experts on all aspects of make up, fashion and beauty. There will be a pop up boutique with vintage designer clothing and accessories with Beloved Boutiques from Focus Ireland there on the night.

Focus Ireland helps prevent families, young people and individuals from having to first experience homelessness if possible. For those currently experiencing homelessness, Focus Ireland identifies the best available supports and options to aid them on their journey out of homelessness. They also support those at risk of homelessness again in the future, to minimise the risk, by providing excellent tenancy supports. A raffle will be held on the evening with all raffle and popup boutique proceeds to the charity.

As well as fashion beauty & makeup stands, talks & tips there will be a selection of mini pampering treatments available on the night - indian head massages, neck & shoulder massages, complimentary hand peels and colour and style consultations.

Religion, Reform, Identity: Ireland and the age of Reformations

A day of lectures in Christ Church Cathedral, Waterford, marking the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation

This exciting programme will bring seven historians to Waterford who will give talks on various aspects of the Protestant and Catholic Reformations in Ireland, and their impact on this island's history and people.

The programme will take place in Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday, 20 May 2017. The programme is included at the bottom of this email. Anyone wishing to attend may pre-register on the Cathedral website, .

Full registration/entrance fee (at door): €50. Pre-booked on the cathedral website or concession (unwaged, student, member of historical society): €30. Tea / Coffee breaks and lunch are included.

Sing for Sound

Waterford’s ecumenical Trinity Gospel Choir present “Sing for Sound” on Saturday 20th May at 7.30pm. This will be a wonderful night of music and song from some of Waterford’s best musical talent. Acts include Trinity Gospel Choir, Dominic McGorian, Madri Gallery, WIT Children’s Choir and Lumina.

Places fill for Waterford Summer Camps

Children’s nationwide performing arts network Starcamp is reminding parents that places are filling up for its three Waterford summer camps which take place during July and August next.

Dates and venues where the camps will be held are St. John of Gods National School, Waterford City (10-14th July), Tramore GAA Club (14-18th August) and Town Hall Theatre, Dungarvan (31st July - 4th August).

Now in its 10th year and supported once again by banana importers Fyffes, the week-long camps for boys and girls aged 4-12 are designed to teach performance and build confidence amongst those taking part through song, dance, drama and games.

Headquartered in Carrigaline, Starcamp will visit almost 200 towns across 32 counties this Summer. Interested parents can obtain further information on their website

Ladies Night

Ladies Night in aid of the Irish Cancer Society Night Nurse Foundation will take place at the Mansion House, Waterford on Saturday 3rd June at 7.30pm. On the night there will be a Make Up Demo, Skin Care Talk, Hair Demo, Nail Applications, Tarot Card Reading and Raffle.

Tickets are €15 and all proceeds go to the Irish Cancer Society Night Nurse Foundation.

Bealtaine Festival

Bealtaine Festival takes place between 1st-31st May 2017 with plenty of events happening in all Waterford Libraries. Bealtaine Festival celebrate arts and creativity as we age. Ardkeen Library events include Meditation and Stress Management with Eileen Devereux on Saturday May 20th at 10.30am and a Nutrition Talk with Barbara Boland on Wednesday 24th May at 10.30.

The Annual Diocesan May Rosary Procession will take place on Sunday May 28th leaving Ballybricken Green at 3pm and proceeding to the Dominican Church Bridge street for the Crowning of our Lady. All are welcome especially children who received their first holy communion.
