Friday 05-October The Forum Waterford
Tommy half remembers drinking in a pub in Waterford City that had a rifle range and a squash court at the back of it. Sure why wouldn't you? What could possibly go wrong there? " Three whiskeys, ten bullets and a pair of white shorts please barman when you're ready. I have me own gun". He is delighted to be back touring a county that seems to have coralled all the lunacy of the south east for itself. And Tommy might even get a chance to revisit that pub, seeing as it's just down the road from his show at The Forum on Friday 5th October.
Tommy's mastery of stand-up allows him to take risks other comedians dare not. Through hilarious storytelling and a high energy, non- apologetic delivery, he continually challenges his audience who can be confident they are in safe hands. To see Tiernan live is a rare treat, as his stories unfold and themes are elaborated his performance mesmerises as his lyrical way with words make you laugh harder than you'd ever believe possible.
There's unlikely to be a more compelling stand-up out there today, with this show giving us all the sides of Tiernan from the hushed conspirator to the firebrand preacher, riffing on childhood, family and a little bit of politics. Pure genius, so it Is.
Tickets (€28 plus service charge) are on sale now at Next Door, Forum Waterford, 051 871111 and http://www.forumwaterford.com

It does this by having all of its financial transactions finished here in Ireland. And the company here is …
