Imelda May Tribute At Shortt’S
Wednesday, 1st August 2012
Spraoi Saturday 4th of August is an exciting one for Shortt’s as we welcome Irelands top Imelda May tribute to the venue, particular attention has been paid to detail to ensure that a quality live performance is delivered and if one was to close your eyes you would swear the little lady herself was present on stage.
The Imelda May Tribute Band was formed in 2010 by Yvonne Reddy to pay tribute to the music of Imelda May. The band, consisting of Yvonne on vocals, Diarmuid on guitar, Lee on Bass and Colm on drums play material from the hit albums Love Tattoo and Mayhem. They also feature material from Imelda's lesser known first album No Turning Back as well as some Blues and Rockabilly covers from the likes of Howlin Wolf, Little Walter, Elvis etc that Imelda has been known to perform in her live shows. Aside from an attention to detail in the music the band also attempt to re-create the look and energy of an Imelda May performance to enhance the experience for the audience.
As with all our gigs in Shortt’s we recommend arriving early to grab yourself a good seat, there is free entry on the night and a strict over 21 policy on the door.
