Wednesday, 27th June 2012

Christine Smith, granddaughter of Tom and Peggy (Devereux) Connolly, Holy Cross, Butlerstown is now an Emmy Award Winning Producer. Christine received her Emmy on Saturday night at The Daytime Emmy Award Show held in Hollywood. Christine has been working in the television industry since graduation from Boston College in May 2006. She currently lives and works in Manhattan, NY where she is a Producer on the Dr. Oz Show. The Dr. Oz Show was put forward and won in the category: BestTalk Show Informative

Christine has spent many a summer and Christmas in Ireland while growing up and has a very close relationship with her many cousins, aunts and uncles around Waterford and Slieverue. Christine's mom, Kathleen Connolly, moved to the States back in 1980 (but never really left home). Christine holds close and dear to her heart the 3 months she spent as a student at St. Paul's Community College back in Waterford in '96 and the semester she studied Irish History at U.C.C. back in 2004. She was last back in Ireland a year ago February for her cousin Jennie Devereux's wedding. Christine is hoping that the whole Smith family can spend next Christmas at her Nanny and Grandad Connolly's house in Butlerstown, after-all there is nowhere like home for the holidays!
