So turn down the temperature and get ready to enjoy some of the best irish acts around.
Doors on the night are at 10pm
JAPE originally started as the solo project of Richard Egan (The Redneck Manifesto) and has evolved over the years into one of the most exciting live acts in the country. They have attracted the support of many leading contemporaries, and won the prestigious Choice Music "Album Of The Year Award" on 2 occasions, first in 2008 for 2nd album "Ritual", and this year for 4th album "Ocean Of Frequency", which was also named as album of the year by the Sunday Times.
HAL have surprised everyone in 2012 with a brilliant new album "The Time The Hour", after disappearing from the music scene without explanation back in 2006. Their self-titled debut in 2005 was regarded as one of the best international releases of that year, leading to a worldwide tour and huge radio and TV airplay. We are happy to report that the new material is just as strong and recent live shows have been magical.
THE KANYU TREE are 3 brothers whose debut single 'Radio' enjoyed massive radio airplay all over the country in 2011. Their debut album "People Street" showcased a sound that was both surprisingly familiar and refreshingly new, a band in pursuit of the perfect pop song.
PROPELLER PALMS from Waterford were the subject of a 3 page feature in a recent issue of Hot Press. That debut album "All In This Together" received 4 star reviews and several of its tracks are on heavy rotation on national airwaves. What is really creating the fuss though is their potency as a live act, a 10 piece band who hark back to the glory days of Springsteen's E Street Band, Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue and The Band's Last Waltz, delivering a passionate and uplifting set of rock and soul.
SIRCLES formed from the ashes of The Blizzards last year when former frontman Bressie went solo with his new electro-pop direction. They fly the flag for good ol' fashioned rock and released their first single 'Wanting Waiting' in May. The band comprise ex-Blizzards men Anthony Doran, Dec Murphy and Justin Ryan, with one-time Mesner frontman Brendan McEvoy on vocal duties.

Once in a blue moon. As rare as hen's teeth. A Government success. Each of those three sentences are as unusual and as rare as each other. But the last one seems to be about to take place. The Government has announced that it plans to give each child in the State a second year of free pre-school. It might not sound like earth shattering news but if it does happen then it could be one of the most significant things that this Government has done since it took office. Any money that is given over to education is a …
