Waterford band

Wednesday, 20th June 2012

SOLAR TAXI play their biggest headline show to date at The Forum on Saturday, 30th June, with doors at 11.30pm and admission €5. Their much anticipated debut album 'Broken Brother's Secret Bells' will follow later in the year. Energetic, diverse, soulful & melodic the album is the result of a year and a half's intensive song-writing and recording. It reflects a very cool range of influences like Goldfrapp, Fever Ray, Daft Punk and Nikka Costa. 'Zodiac' the first single has already been clocking up massive airplay on national radio, and gigs around the country have highlighted the strength of the band's material like the stunning "Parcels", a real live highlight. Also playing on the night are Percolator, who have recently released the first single from their forthcoming debut album, following their 2009 "Flicker" EP. The band are currently gigging to promote the single and have been getting a lot of blog love lately. There is a growing sense that Solar Taxi have all it takes to make that BIG breakthrough, so come and check them out at The Forum on 30th June.

You won't be disappointed.

"Infectious, thumping & glorious, with a start as strong as this we can't wait to hear where they go" The Star

"Upbeat disco-era Blondie style tunes, with the phenomenal vocal talents of Aisling Browne at the centre, sounding like a young Aretha Franklin. Their EP 'She Dies With Beautiful Teeth' is being championed by 2FM's Jenny Greene and excellent it is too.." The Sun

"Featuring the sexy flame-haired, guitar-toting, Aisling Browne on vocals, Waterford quartet Solar Taxi cut a fine line between uptown Brooklyn electro funk and downtown scuzz rock. They are gathering momentum as the hottest thing on the Waterford scene since O Emperor shot out of the traps. " Hotpress

It might not sound like earth shattering news but if it does happen then it could be one of the most significant things that this Government has done since it took office. Any money that is given over to education is a …
