In association with the Symphony Club of Waterford Christ Church Cathedral is proud to welcome back Wexford Sinfonia Orchestra this coming Saturday 26th May for an evening performance at 8pm. This concert is set to round off a full day of arts and culture in and around the Cathedral.
This year's programme includes a range of popular operatic arias, including O Mio Babbino Caro (Puccini), Una Furtiva Lagrime (Donizetti), Bizet's Carmen Suite and a delightful choice of light opera favourites by Gershwin, Balfe, Bernstein and others. Soloists are Alison Doyle, soprano and Eamonn Mulhall, tenor and Conductor is Fergus Sheil. Wexford Sinfonia Orchestra was formed in 1993 with Fergus Sheil as conductor. In September 1998 Fergus took up a position with Scottish Opera and on his return, in December 2002 once again took the job of directing the Sinfonia. With the kind support of the Arts Council and Cantec.
