Having just finished a busy few months producing Rugby and GAA National League commentary programmes in their HD studio in the Ring Gaeltacht, Nemeton TV are busy recruiting for their their Higher Diploma in Television which they have successfully run with Waterford IT since 2006.
This course has gained a high profile in the media industry with a very good employment record among course graduates. Some of whom have found employment in RTE, TG4, Digital Marketing, and Radio. Nemeton programmes like the highly acclaimed TG4 series on Irish railways; Boithre Iarainn and Laochra Gael were made or edited by Higher Diploma graduates in recent years. As one graduate TV Director says; "The Ard Diplóma provided me with a fantastic practical introduction into the real world of TV, as it was run at Nemeton TV itself- a working production company!
However conscious of the changing media landscape, Managing Director of Nemeton points out; "With the rapid changes in media the course will equip graduates not only to work in television but also to create content for digital marketing campaigns and webtv".
For almost twenty years Nemeton TV has been producing hundreds of hours of compelling programming for RTE, TG4 and BBC. Highlights include IFTA nominated 'Laochra Gael' 'Nicolas', 'The Brothers', 'Stair an GAA' as well as GAA Beo and Rugbai beo. The company's strong emphasis on training means that they are also committed to nurturing new and emerging talent.
Students on the Higher Diploma then experience a very practical introduction to the media industry as the training studio is alongside a live production company. Course lecturers on the Higher Diploma are industry professionals with broadcasting credits as directors, producers, and editors for RTE, TG4 and BBC.
