Double Grammy Award winning guitar legend, Albert Lee celebrates 50 years as a professional musician with a very special performance at Forum Waterford on Wednesday, 23rd May. On the night, Lee will be backed by his superb, multi-talented touring band, Hogan's Heroes.
Albert Lee, is by common consent, one of the world's finest guitar-players. Eric Clapton describes Lee as: "A great, great guitar player, fluid, lyrical and free". Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood takes it a step further declaring Albert Lee: "The World's Greatest Guitarist!". Amongst the many accolades bestowed on Albert Lee are: A Gold Badge Award from B.A.S.C.A. (The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors), A Lifetime Achievement Award from B.C.M.A. (British Country Music Association), two Grammy Awards and, he's been voted "Worlds Best Guitar Player" an incredible five times by readers of Guitar Player Magazine. A genuine guitar wizard, Paul McCartney, Jerry Lee Lewis, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Cliff Richard, Dolly Parton, Nanci Griffith, Jackson Browne, The Everly Brothers, Mark Knopfler and Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings are just a few of the world renown artists that Albert Lee has worked with over the course of his career.
Having played to a capacity crowd on their last visit to Forum Waterford back in December 2009, Albert and the guys are very much looking forward to a return visit to the popular venue in the Glen on Wednesday, May 23rd to celebrate Albert's 50th year as a professional musician.
