A live concert performance of PINK FLOYD’S 'THE WALL’
The Group are no strangers to successfully presenting what would appear to be difficult live music concepts, as they proved during their spectacular re-creation on stage of Martin Scorcese’s THE LAST WALTZ live at The Forum last month. That 2 hour show earned a standing ovation from a full house. For their next project The Group will present a live music performance, including animation and extra scenes, of Pink Floyd’s THE WALL at The Forum this Saturday, 21st April. Even before the original Pink Floyd album was recorded, Roger Waters always intended for a film to be made from it. However, his concept of the film was live footage from the album's tour, with Scarfe's animation and additional scenes starring Waters himself. EMI though were not so sure as they did not understand the concept. Director Alan Parker, a life-long Pink Floyd fan, asked EMI if he could adapt The Wall for a movie, they hooked him up with Waters and the rest is history. It is the version conceived by Roger Waters, focusing on live performance of those brilliant songs, which The Group will perform at The Forum. In fact, Mr Waters is doing something pretty similar himself at the moment, packing out arenas all over the world. So you are cordially invited to become "Another Brick In The Wall" at The Forum Waterford this Saturday, 21st April, doors 10pm til late. Tickets €17.50 (+ service charge) are on sale now at Next Door (Forum Waterford), 051 871111 and http://www.forumwaterford.com
