Film of the week - The Leisure Seeker Out Now

The Leisure Seeker is the nickname of the old RV used by Ella and John Spencer to take vacations with their children in the 1970s. On a summer morning, desperate to escape a destiny of medical care that would have kept them apart forever, the couple astonish their meddling adult children by hopping on board that dated vehicle and dashing down Old Route 1 towards Key West for a new adventure. Their trip through an America they no longer recognize mixing hilarious moments with others of pure terror is their chance to retrace a married life nourished by passion & devotion.

Exhibition of the week

A Better Place exhibition University Hospital Waterford http://www.waterfordhealingarts.com  Dungarvan artist Sinéad Hehir’s paintings have been selected via a public vote for exhibition at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) under the A Better Place exhibition strand.  The exhibition will be officially launched by poet Edward Denniston on Wednesday 13 June at 6pm.  All are welcome to attend.  This annual exhibition, presented by Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT), aims to use original artworks to make UHW a better place for all.  The exhibition will continue until 28 August.

On Saturday 23rd June and Sunday 24th June, international Yoga teacher Jaye Martin will teach at Anjali Yoga Waterford, yoga Studio in Lismore Park. Saturday  10am - 12:30pm: All levels Workshop with a focus on backbends and exploring Wheel Pose. Sunday 10am - 12:30pm: Intermediate Level Workshop with a focus on arm balancing postures. This is not suitable for beginners.

Price for each workshop is €35.00 or €60.00 for both. Booking is essential.

Owen Tubbritt of Apex Fire Ltd gave a great presentation to Connect Effect, which included a demonstration and display of different types of fire extinguishers. CO2, Foam, and Powder Extinguishers were explained, with their applications to fire hazards. The Connect Effect group were shocked to hear that a fire doubles in size every seven seconds. Be safe and stay fire safe with Apex Fire for fire extinguishers sales, services, and training.

Connect Effect meets at the Waterford Crystal Leisure Centre, every Wednesday at 8 am.

Interactive, multi-media exhibition that includes a diverse selection of original drawings by the studio team which produced this animated, feature length film that was nominated for an Oscar.

Curated by Anna O’Sullivan and designed by Steven McNamara of ROJI, the exhibition provides an imaginative and accessible viewing of Cartoon Saloon’s movie making process. It includes a diverse selection of original drawings by the studio team.

Soprano Orla Forristal will be performing in the foyer of (UHW) on Monday 11 June at 1.30pm, presented by Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT). Admission is free and all are welcome. The performance is part of Healing Sounds in the Foyer, a programme of monthly live music performances which aims to promote the positive relationship between music, health and wellbeing and to reduce stress and anxiety for patients, visitors and staff.     Rush to CriticismThere are not many people who at this stage have not heard about the Cash family and what happened to them. The mother and six of her children had to seek accommodation in the Tallaght Garda Station last week as they had absolutely nowhere to turn to.
