Cry Before Dawn Rise Again

Wednesday, 20th April 2011

CRY BEFORE DAWN will play The Forum Waterford as part of their 2011 Re-union Tour on Easter Saturday, 23rd April. It's a very appropriate date, for the resurrection of one of Ireland's favourite bands after a break of almost 20 years. The show is part of an extensive re-union tour which has already sold out dates at Vicar St in Dublin and the Wexford Opera House, and also includes an appearance at the London Feis festival in June alongside Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Christy Moore. It was 1986 when Cry Before Dawn released their first single "Follow Me" on Dawn Records, which landed them a deal with international label CBS. Their debut album "Crimes Of Conscience" included 3 hit singles in Ireland, the trad-tinged "Gone Forever", the gutsy "The Seed That's Been Sown" and the anthem "The Girl in The Ghetto". These instant classics paved the way for a second album, "Witness For The World", which in turn produced another three major hits for the band, the politically informed title track, the Dylanesque "Last Of The Sun" and the beautiful melancholic "No Living Without You". The band also sold out 5000 capacity venues in the UK as well as filling Top Irish venues such as the National Stadium and The Bridge Hotel in Waterford on numerous occasions. Doors on Saturday are at 7pm and tickets are available on the night. It's good to have them back !

It might not sound like earth shattering news but if it does happen then it could be one of the most significant things that this Government has done since it took office. Any money that is given over to education is a …
