South East Enterprise Village

Pictured in New Ross (in front of the Dunbrody ship) are 11 Waterford SME's that will be exhibiting at the South East Enterprise Village as part of this year's National Ploughing Chamionships. Eleven Waterford companies exhibiting at this year's National Ploughing Championships will do so under the umbrella of the South East Enterprise Village, a new initiative by the South East County and City Enterprise Boards. Alongside fifty-two other businesses from the region, the companies are predicting combined sales of 1.5million from the three day event.

The South East Enterprise Village, launched on Wednesday 11th July at Dunbrody Ship, New Ross, will also showcase companies from Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford City and County, South Tipperary and Wexford. The South East Enterprise Village will be a first for the National Ploughing Championships, being held this year in New Ross, Co. Wexford from 25th to 27th September.

Representing a diverse range of sectors, all of the businesses that are working with Waterford City Enterprise Board in the Enterprise Village, are:

Granny Maddocks Pantry, Ferrybank, Bakery

Hoping to welcome in excess of 40,000 visitors to the Enterprise Village in the course of the Ploughing, the organisers have also created a unique 'New Inventions' area in the Village, which is reserved for companies pioneering inventions for the agricultural industry.

At the announcement of the planned South East Enterprise Village today, Ciaran Cullen, CEO, Waterford City Enterprise Board said: "The National Ploughing Championships and the South East Enterprise Village are a natural fit. Waterford City Enterprise Board clients companies will feature strongly in the Enterprise Village, providing them with an invaluable platform to do business, generating potential for business growth and job opportunities across the local region."

The South East Enterprise Village is organised by the local County and City Enterprise Boards in Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford City and County and Wexford.The Enterprise Boards, set up in 1993 as state support agencies, offer various enterprise supports for small businesses and micro-enterprises with ten employees or less.
