Making The Link Cafe Style Networking Event
Wednesday, 25th April 2012
An exciting opportunity for Community & Voluntary groups to meet with representatives from the main Statutory Agencies in the city takes place in Waterford on Tuesday 1st of May from 09.30 – 12.30 in the Edmund Rice Centre, Barrack St. The State Agencies involved will be those which deliver services to disadvantaged communities and individuals.
The Café Style Information Workshop 'Making the Link. will be hosted by Waterford Area Partnership.
A Café style format will allow each participant meet representatives from all the other organisations and give them the opportunity to share information on the work they do, exchange ideas and contact details.
Given the changes in personnel and roles of Statutory Agencies now is a good time to get up to speed on what is happening. This period of change is increasing the pressure experienced by Voluntary and Community organisations. They provide many badly needed services such as advice and guidance, housing support, debt management, various counselling & support services, etc.
The dramatic increase in demand for assistance, information and support from state services is placing enormous pressure on their frontline staff; this can be very frustrating and wasteful of available time. Identifying the right person or section in an organisation can help reduce delays and get accurate information quicker.
A few places are still available and if your organisation is interested in attending please contact Margaret Mulligan on Tel: 840011, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
