No hope, No future

A Chara,
The recent report by Social Justice Ireland highlights the stark reality of who is bearing the brunt of this recession.
In fact it shows that for the richest in our society there is no recession. For them there is actually the opposite. They are enjoying growth and an increase in wealth!
It is time the government made those who can afford to contribute to rectifying the economic disaster (Which the poorest of our society have to suffer.) were made pay.
People on low incomes spend all of their income. They have to in order to exist.
This is not the case for people on the highest incomes where higher taxes will have no effect on their standard of living or indeed their lifestyle.
It is time the government listened to reports from groups such as Social Justice Ireland because while the rich get richer our youth and the low income earners in our society are not just getting poorer but they are despairing with the "No hope, No future" policies of this government.
We desperately need a change of policy to give hope to our young people in particular.
The government are not giving us any light at the end of this tunnel and we desperately need at least a chink of light to stimulate real growth to benefit all sections of our society.
Is mise le meas
Cllr. Seán Reinhardt.

There is little about summit meeting that the …
