Nominations sought from Waterford for People of the Year Awards

Wednesday, 13th June 2012

Dear Editor

I am writing in connection with the 2012 national People of the Year Awards and wonder if the readers of the Waterford Today might be able to help!

Each year at the People of the Year Awards, which are organised by Rehab and presented live on RTÉ One television by Gráinne Seoige, we shine a light on some of the many unsung heroes which are present the length and breadth of the country. This year, we want to do so again, but we need the assistance of readers!

If you think you know someone who has done something extraordinary, who has made a real difference, who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and whom you feel deserves a People of the Year Award, then nominate them now. In addition, there are also specific categories for Young Person of the Year, International Person of the Year, Sports Person of the Year and Community Group of the Year. The closing date for entries is June 29 2012 and nominations can be made at http://www.peopleoftheyear.com or by writing to us at People of the Year Awards office, Rehab, Roslyn Park, Sandymount, Dublin 4.

This is your chance to honour inspiring people in your county. Once the nomination is made, leave the rest to us, and on Saturday September 15 next, who knows but a 2012 winner of a People of the Year Award could well be from County Waterford!

Yours sincerely

Don Delaney

Any money that is given over to education is a …
