The August bank holiday weekend in Waterford means one thing and one thing only and that is the huge Spraoi festival that draws in people from all over the country. From small beginnings the event has gone on to only grow bigger and stronger over the years with an unstoppable force that is a wonder to behold.

Naturally enough there is a huge amount of work that goes into the festival and the work leading up to the first weekend in August must seem never ending.

Spraoi has really put Waterford on the map in the Summer and it is no wonder that there are so many visitors that come and have such a great time here. Given that we are experiencing such great weather at the moment only makes Spraoi that much better.

With so many things to see and experience Spraoi is a delight for all the senses and without it Summer in Waterford would be a much duller place.

  • A Wonderful Harvest

    Even though the weather Gods didn’t exactly play ball over the weekend it doesn’t take away from the fact that this years Waterford Harvest Festival was yet again another wonderful success. It was great to see the streets of the centre of the city so beautifully and thoughtfully decked out. The various food stalls offering tastes from all over were great to wander around.
