Theatre Royal Waterford presents King Lear Review |

|
Directed by Ben Barnes, the Theatre Royal has brought together a first class cast to present a highly informative and interactive review of Shakespeare's King Lear.
As Leaving Cert students begin their revision on the countdown to their exams, this 80 minute production will explore the characters and themes of Shakespeare's play. Key selected scenes will be presented with an experienced facilitator to moderate a focused discussion on the issues thrown up by each scene.
The format is uniquely designed to allow for the participation of the students as well as dealing with the kind of questions that are likely to be part of the examination. The discussion with actors and facilitator will offer insights into the problems and challenges associated with bringing Shakespeare's great play to life on the stage. The students will also receive a worksheet based on the themes of the review to take back to class for further discussion.
Performances will run in the Theatre Royal Waterford from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 14th January 2010 with two performances each day at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Price per student is e6 with supervisors and teachers are free of charge. Booking at the Theatre Royal box office on 051 874402 or email ticketsattheatreroyal.ie.
