"This is the first time that the mall in Dungarvan Shopping Centre has been used for a fashion show" says DSC Manager Gerry O'Connor, "and the transformation was magic with a large catwalk, seating, lights, sound and eight huge plasma screens. The night was a wonderful success, and we are grateful for the support from the units within the Shopping Centre and the public, and from all who contributed in any way including The Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore".
Compere Terry Martin had the audience in the palm of his hand with his charm as he introduced the models all of them local, many of whom work in Dungarvan Shopping Centre plus five from the RNLI Helvick Lifeboat Station.
The packed house applauded and lauded as the lads and lassies, relayed live on the plasma screens, strutted their stuff on the catwalk wearing the latest fashions from stores in Dungarvan Shopping Centre.
An Bialann restaurant sponsored the wine and cheese reception with the tastiest platters of mouthwatering delicacies; Ciarán O'Flynn Jewellers sponsored over €750 worth of jewelry from the Ti-Sento range; the goody bags sponsored by Unicarepharmacy and other DSC units were a real treat.
"An added highlight of the evening" adds Gerry O'Connor "was the four course pre-show dinner in Tiffany's restaurant on the Plaza where over 130 people were hosted by Mustafa and his staff. I would like to thank all of our models who volunteered their time freely and of course the 510 people who attended and raised funds for the RNLI Helvick Lifeboat."
TG4 was busy capturing the highlights for TV. All for a most worthy cause. The RNLI is comprised of men and women who volunteer to save life at sea, constantly risking their lives in all kinds of weather 24-7-365.
