The Waterford & Suir Valley Railway opened for the 2008 season on 22nd March. To coincide with this the company launched a new website.

Visit the website to get information on every aspect of the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway Company. You will learn how this voluntary community project has developed over the past ten years to become one of the largest tourist attractions in County Waterford. If you are interested in the history of Waterford's railways you can browse through the history section. There is a guide to and photographs of the construction of the present narrow gauge track. A visitors section tells you everything you need to know about visiting the railway and what to expect when you get there. This section also leads you to information on other family friendly attractions in the South East.

In 2008 you can travel free for the season, by becoming a friend of the railway. Family membership is €50.00. This allows a family of two adults and up to four children to travel free for the 2008 season from March to September as often as you like. You will receive a 20 % discount for guests travelling with you and 10% off special event such as the Sunset Express, Spooky Express and Santa Express. You will also be supporting a voluntary community project with charitable status.
