Pictured above are a group of Santas who took part in the Santa Dash to raise funds for the Solas Centre for Cancer sufferers.
Santa also arrived by bicycle, with a special Garda escort, to John Robert's Square on Saturday 12th December as part of the Christmas In Waterford campaign. Santa's traditional sledge and reindeers were exchanged this year of a colourful bicycle kindly supplied by Altitude of Ballybricken.
"I am delighted to be going green in 2009," Santa was heard saying. He continued, "When I was approached to take part in the Christmas In Waterford promotion I immediately made Waterford City Centre one of my priorities this year. To get a Garda escort was such a great thrill and I would like to thank the Garda who took part. I will be around Waterford City Centre from Saturday 19th December through to Wednesday 23rd December. I do hope that all the boys and girls have sent me their letters. If they have not then I can collect these from them over the next few days in and around John Robert's Square."
