Traffik to go Live with Codes & Trousersnake
Traffik to go Live with Codes & Trousersnake

Traffik, the city's top Indie Club based at Forum Waterford will go live again on Saturday November 28th with Dublin based up and coming four piece Codes ably supported by local act Trousersnake.

Codes are an alternative/electronic quartet from Dublin. Expansive, yet melodic, powerful yet delicate, CODES music colours the void between the ambience and longevity of soundtrack music and the energy and immediacy of live music. Their new single You Are Here is taken from the winter inspired debut album Trees Dream In Algebra, which was recorded with acclaimed producer Greg Haver (Manics, SFA) mastered by Greg Calbi (U2, Interpol, Kings of Leon) and was released on September 18th nationwide.

Trousersnake who play support on the night describe themselves as a backlash against the pompous art rock of the modern day; breathing vintage, thuggish rock and roll back into its polluted airwaves.

Christmas Comedy at Laughter Lounge
Christmas Comedy at Laughter Lounge

What better way to celebrate the festive season then with a night of comedy at the Laughter Lounge every Friday and Saturday night in the downstairs venue at Forum Waterford. Laughter Lounge is a great way to spend a night in a relaxed atmosphere with the benefit of late bar, with Dj Paul Farrell. Book a Christmas party night with a difference, Ring Denise on 051-871122.

This week's line up:

Jack Wise has been entertaining sophisticated audiences for almost a decade now. His style and eye popping magic has made him the ‘choice' for celebrities like U2, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue. When Jack walks on stage it's his lightening fast adlibs and outrageous (but never offensive) sense of humour that wins over the audience. And then he hits them with the magic – but most importantly, for every gasp from the audience there are twice the laughs.

Chris Kent is an up a...

An evening with Don Mescall
An evening with Don Mescall

Highly acclaimed singer/songwriter, Don Mescall - a firm favourite with Waterford music lovers, makes a welcome return to Forum Waterford this coming Saturday, November 21st. On the night, fans can look forward to hearing firm favourites plus, in Don's own words: "quite a few new songs too!".

The name Don Mescall is synonymous with acoustic music of the highest order and deepest emotional depths. His singles, "Trouble Is" and "Left in L.A." are firm favourites from radio and TV and have led to regular appearances on The Late Late Show, Pat Kenny's radio show and Ireland AM. In describing Mescall's music, the press typically makes reference to the styles of classic artists such as: Paul Simon, Jackson Browne or a laid-back Springsteen, whilst the fresher-faced draw somewhat clichéd parallels to hugely successful contemporary singer/songwriters, the likes of David Gray and fellow Irishman, Damien Rice.

Soul Reazon Back @ The Avenue
Soul Reazon Back @ The Avenue

There hasn'nt been many acts to come out of Waterford who can still pack ‘em in after 21 years, but SOUL REASON are still going strong and will make a return visit to Electric Avenue this Saturday 21st November.

Soul Reazon were formed in 1988 and became a regular attraction on the Waterford ‘live' circuit. Following a very successful two years, the decision was taken to expand the line-up and hone the band's image along the lines of ‘The Blues Brothers'. The new approach worked a treat and soon SOUL REAZON were packing out venues all over the South-East and breaking attendance records at venues in their hometown. The lads recorded and released a single in 1989, a version of the Otis Redding classic, "Respect". This in turn led to several appearances on RTE television and radio, including slots on The Gerry Ryan Show. In late 1990, SOUL REASON played their first live shows in Dublin and as a result ...

On Saturday December 5th, Waterford's Male Voice Choir will take to the stage at Forum Waterford to support the world renowned Harlem Gospel Choir. Waterford Male Voice Choir was founded in 2001 and since its inception has created quite a stir in music circles in the South East. The idea to set up the choir came about when a few friends, who shared a love of singing, met in a local pub and decided the time was ripe to set up a group, they decided to meet on a regular basis and experience singing in a more formal setting. The rest, as the saying goes, is history. From an initial group of just ten members, the choir has grown from strength to strength and now boasts a membership of nearly fifty members. The choir soon realised that it had the potential to progress far more than originally thought and performed in two concerts a...
