  • Why they are Champions

    Wednesday, 6th June 2007

Kerry, the aristocrats of Senior football, arrived in Dungarvan on Sunday last for the Munster final and justified their favourites tag with little or no fuss into the bargain. The All-Ireland champions were taking no chances with this encounter at Fraher Field and came to town with a full panel of players and all the "big guns" in tow. waterford united 1 - 3 UCD

They were the thorn in the Blues side for the second meeting of the sides as UCD were just too classy for a United side who suffered their first league defeat since losing away to Longford Town at Flancare Park.

While the better team won the match and to that there could be no complaint, however they did get more than just a helping from Dublin referee Neil Doyle, who was in the thick of the action but in truth, UCD were just too good on the night.

Not so GR8 G8With world attention on Fermanagh as the meeting place of the latest G8 Summit it is no wonder that locals are basking in the reflected spotlight. We have all been told, if we haven't already experienced at first hand, the beauty of the location. We know about the exclusiveness of the hotels that the various leaders are going to be staying as well as some of their security detail. We know about the menus from which they will be choosing from. There is little about summit meeting that the …
