  • Beware of Farm Machinery

    Wednesday, 15th June 2011

An Agriculture Commentator from Rathgormack County Waterford Michael Flynn has said that people need to be fully aware of the dangers of Farm Machinery especially at this time of year. Many Tractors when they are coming out of fields at this time of year can be attached to long trailed implements and its very important to know they will take some time to exit the field properly. Cars need to slow down immediately when they see an agriculture tractor in the distance for this reason and also when these vehicles are travelling on the roads they are going at very slow speeds compared to that of a car. • On your bike for National Bike Week

    Wednesday, 15th June 2011

National Bike Week takes place 18th – 26th June. Not only is cycling an easy way of helping the environment while getting exercise and staying fit, you'll also save money. Whatever the traffic conditions are, the time taken to cycle any regular journey is very predictable and knowing exactly when you will arrive makes planning your day much easier and a whole lot less stressful. Of course, you'll also be doing your bit to fight climate change. Every kilometre that you choose to cycle instead of driving saves approximately 250g of CO2 emissions (for an average car in typical urban traffic conditions).
